The expensive ones usually already have their set roles, and the high level will require the player to rely on the bonuses to change their build. Most already have set points that point them to a specific build, but low level enough that it can be easily changed, especially with the skill bonuses.

The companions in the game range from level 1 blank slates to level 60 troops - although because of the bonuses discussed above, even the high-level companions can still get skill points.
